A Tragic Loss and an Opportunity

aqua butterflyShocked and outraged when her nineteen-year-old niece Maggie was killed in 1999 by her ex-boyfriend, Susan vowed to work with women who did survive abuse to help them reclaim their lives as Maggie could not. Thereafter, Susan's work became more personal, immediate and impassioned.

Susan wrote:  "Maggie  would be outraged by the way she died and would want us to do something about it. But she'd also have those of us who loved her so dearly find something in the way she lived to help us heal our pain, give us hope for the future and find a place in our hearts to forgive."

Susan took up this call in a unique and inspiring way.
