Triggers to Get You Started

inset_3718706_oSometimes you may need a writing prompt or a “trigger” to get you started writing. Writing prompts may be sentences that you can complete ("If I had no fear, I would…"), or they can be questions to answer ("What is one thing you are grateful for?"). Others are statements to respond to ("Make a list of things that make you feel happy").

Don’t worry if you start writing about one thing and suddenly find you are writing about something else. Whatever you are supposed to write about, you will! There are writing prompts throughout The Thriver Workbook. For more writing prompts, see below or visit the Thriver Zone blog (coming soon).

It is a free expression of what is inside you, uncensored and uninterrupted by your Inner Critic, that negative voice in your head. You want to write quickly so that your Inner Critic won’t jump in and inhibit the free flow of words, emotions and thoughts.

Try a free write from some of the prompts included in The Thriver Workbook.
