Forming a Thriver Group

"We are, each of us, angels with only one wing; and we can only fly by embracing one another."

Benefits and Advantages

inset_2762586_oThe Thriver Workbook: Journey from Victim to Survivor to Thriver! offers you a path to reclaim your life after abuse. The advantage of forming your own Thriver Group rather than going through the workbook by yourself is that you have others to share this transformational journey with. You can also learn from others in the group and have your own support system as you move from victim to survivor to thriver.

If you can't take a My Avenging Angel WorkshopsTM with Susan, forming your own Thriver Group is a great alternative.

Who to Invite

PDFPrintE-mail

inset_9954775_oIn forming your own Thriver Group, think about who you would like to invite to help you go through The Thriver Workbook. While some parts of this journey are indeed private, there is much to celebrate in this process. So you want group members who are comfortable, respectful, motivated and fun!

Consider these questions when inviting others to join your Thriver Group:

  • Who should get an invite to your group?
  • What is the best way to see who fits best into the group?
  • How many people should be invited?
  • What should everyone agree on before the group starts?

Format for a Thriver Group

PDFPrintE-mail

The Thriver Workbook is designed to take you chapter by chapter, exercise by exercise through the steps of the journey to thriving. The exercises can be done together in a group and then shared out loud. Or everyone can work on an exercise at home and then bring it to the group's meeting to share the results.

In deciding a format for your Thriver Group, think about these questions:

  • How often will you meet? When, and for how long?
  • What should you do at each meeting?
  • How will you keep the group going?
Should you ask for feedback from the group?

Most of all have fun and BE A THRIVER!
